Festive Friday # 7

Hi Guys! Time for another Festive Friday Challenge. Here's my inspiration for you this week:

I actually got the inspiration from this card. I thought the colours were great and ones I wouldn't normally put together myself. So the base is 'baja breeze' and the DSP is from 'paisley petals'. The snow man is made from a 1" circle for the head and the two body bits are 11/4" circle. The hat, scarf, nose and arms were cut free hand and the eyes and buttons are the smallest circle from the 'owl punch'. I stamped the smallest snow flake from 'snow swirled' in white and the snow has just been ripped to the shape I wanted. The sentiment is from 'four the holidays' and I cut a tooth pick to size for the pole. Lastly I popped the snowman up on dimensionals. This was a little bit different to my normal Christmas cards, as I dont normally do 'snowy' cards as we are right in the middle of summer at Christmas! But having said that, I this this guys is pretty cute!

So why not drop by Nicole's blog and see what the other design team have come up with and get a head start on your Christmas cards! Also Nicole is offering random prize winners if we get 5 or more entries - so it's a win-win all round!

Just Us Girls #123

Hi! This week at Just Us Girls the challenge was to use or create images with button in the center.

Here's what I came up with:

Now, I am a button hoarder! I buy them and dont necessary use them as they are too cute. I know that there are a few of you like me out there! So I went through my stash and found ones that were flowers and created this cute scene. I was pretty happy with how it turned out. I know that it says to add buttons to the center of an image, but I missed that part when I read it - whoops!

Festive Friday #5

Hi all! It's time again for another Festive Friday. I LOVE the image from 'Tidings of Joy' and last year it featured on a fair few of my Christmas cards. So here's what I came up with:

I love how this image looks when its coloured in! I stamped the image in stazon onto watercolour paper. I used my blender pen and numerous ink pads to colour this in. The base and dsp are marina mist. I fussy cut out the star and popped it up on a dimensional. I only inked part of the verse to get my greeting. So now it's your turn, head over to Nicole's blog and see what the other design team has come up with.

Freshly Made Sketches #21

Hi! I have been meaning to play along with Freshly Made Sketches for ages now, but never seemed to find the time. But this morning I needed to make a baby boy card to send off to some friends and this sketch was just the inspiration I needed! So here's the sketch:

And here's what I came up with: (sorry about the photo's - I just couldn't seem to get a good one)

I used white, not quite navy and bashful blue for my colours. The boat is made from cutting a circle in half and cutting triangle sails to fit. Its hard to see, but I added some polka dot embossing to the end of my 'congratulations' banner for a bit more detail. I really like the result and hopefully my friends will too.

Wedding Theme Sketch - SC 026/12

Hi all, Sorry it's been a little while since I've popped past - life - it gets busy!
Anyway I have been meaning to play along with Sunny Challenges & Creations for a while now, but just haven't found the time. Their challenge this week is to use the sketch and have a wedding theme... perfect! I needed a money slider for a wedding which is coming up. I flipped the sketch and this is what I've come up with:

Here it is open:

The theme of the wedding this is going to, is black and white. I used my much neglected vintage wallpaper embossing folder. The butterflies were made using the smallest butterfly on the 'beautiful butterflies' die and the black one is from the 'beautiful wings' embosslit. I was pretty happy with the end result, as I struggled to use just two colours. You can find the tutorial for the money slider here
