Merry Monday #47

Hi All, Just a quick post sharing the result of having free time, with no kiddies :)

I love Merry Monday challenge, but I either dont find the time or I'm too late with a card. So hopefully this year I'll find more time to join in :)

So here is my creation for this week.

This week's challenge is to play tic tac toe. I went with blue, clean & simple and designer paper. I used polar party for my images, which are all coloured in not quite navy or baja breeze, the sentiment is from 'four the holidays' and the DSP is from snow festival from Stampin' Up.
Go past Merry Monday and check out the design team creation - amazing!

Thanks for looking :)

Edit: Sorry for the poor quality of the picture - not sure why its not as crisp.

TSOT #103

Good morning! Well it time again for another installment of Try Stampin' On Tuesday and it's another great sketch to work with. But before I show you the sketch and my creation, I wanted to say a BIG thank you to every one who leaves me a comment. I love reading what you have to say and your words are always encouraging - so THANK YOU!

Ok, on to the sketch:
 And my creation:

I went with a Christmas card this time round, as I'm trying to make a few at least every month, so I'm not crazy busy at the end of the year. Well thats the plan - hopefully I can carry through with it :)

I used some of my never ending supply of jolly holiday paper, as well as I wish paper from Stampin' Up. The trees are from 'Polar party' stamp set and I just stamped them on white card and quickly coloured with my ink pads and blender pen. I placed a piece of vellum behind the panel and the twine is cream crochet thread. Quite a simple card - but I'm pleased with the end result.

So now it's your turn. Go past TSOT blog and check out the other design teams creations - amazing! - and then link up your creation. It's great seeing what every one creates and how they are inspired.

Thanks for looking :)

A Mustard Tree

Hi! It's time again for another sketch over at  Try Stampin' On Tuesday - where is the time going?? This week is a great clean and simple sketch from Jenn - seriously, how talented is this lady!
Here's the sketch we have to work with:

Here's my take on it:

I went clean and simple and pulled out colours I never seem to use! I used more mustard, not quite navy  and white. I ran the white panel through the chevron embossing folder, and used different DSP from the regal paper stack. I inked my tree from 'Forrest friends' in  more mustard, but stamped off once before stamping onto my white circle. The sentiment was stamped in not quite navy and it's from 'On your birthday'. I added a few silver pearls and propped the circle onto dimensionals. I was really happy with the end result - a quick and simple guys card, that I actually made a few more of this design.

So go on over and check out the other creations the design team have come up with -  I know you'll be impressed!

Baja Breeze Birthday...

... Try saying that three times quickly!

This week at Try Stampin' On Tuesday, Jenn has a great sketch yet again for us to get our creative juices going.

Here's the sketch:

And here's my take on it:

I think I'm going thorough a baja breeze phase - I cant get enough of it! I loved this paper, which I got off of Stampin' Ups clearance rack, and is apart of the 'pocketful of posies' dsp. I teamed it up with basic grey and some white card and some oh so fabulous silver glimmer paper! My image is from 'Field flowers'. I stamped the solid image off once in baja breeze to create a two tone image. The sentiment is from 'On your birthday' and stamped in basic grey. I added some baja breeze seam binding and some white pearls and voila!

Go past and check out the other design teams creations here.

Vintage Wedding

Hello. I was asked end of last year to make a envelop for my Aunty to give money for a wedding she was attending.

Here's what I came up with:

I used my adoring accents to cut the flap opening and I've layered the outside with very vanilla which has been embossed with my vintage wallpaper EB folder and I've brayered crumb cake on the non raised side of the folder to create subtle colour. My band is a piece of very vanilla, with a crumb cake strip of card and I've punched a scallop circle, lots of leaves and the bird from the bird builder punch to create the focal point. I brayered the bird with crumb cake ink to give it a bit more definition. I actually used this card I made recently as my inspiration. The card is layered onto crumb cake and has the swirl from 'baroque motifs' along the side. My Aunty was thrilled with the end result and said that this was definately one of a kind :)

Bold Little Truck

Hello! Well it's time agin for another Try Stampin' On Tuesday sketch, and they have now hit 100 sketches! It's such an honor to be apart of such an achievement for the team and blog!

Now onto the sketch, I actually struggled with this one and took a while to decide what I wanted to do. So enough said, here's the sketch and what I came up with:

I wanted to use the new to me "I dig you" which is perfect for boy cards! My colours are pulled from my bright collection and I've used pacific point, daffodil delight, real red tangerine tango, old olive and pumpkin pie. I did throw some soft suede in for the tyres - just to mix it up :)
My white background is dry embossed with perfect polka dots and my base is my ever faithful crumb cake. I added some silver pearls and a red button from my stash, with a tiny piece of red thread to finish it off. My truck has been stamped in pumpkin pie and soft suede and stamped onto a piece of same coloured card to give it a bolder looking colour. Then I've fussy cut it out and mounted it onto dimensionals.

Go past the Try Stampin' On Tuesday blog and see what the other designers have come up with -  you wont be disappointed!

Baja Breeze Wedding

Hi. Well with Christmas and New years over, it's time to shift gears - I feel like all I've been making are card with red, green or trees on it! In November, I went to a wedding and I'm only just getting a chance to share it with you. Here it is:

The card is actually a case from here. I love the softness, yet crisp lines of baja breeze and whisper white. I used the vintage wallpaper EB folder and beautiful wings embosslit. The sentiment is from 'fabulous phrases' and is actually stamped in marina mist, as it showed up a little darker on the baja breeze card. I even decorated the inside:

Enjoy the Butterflies

* Happy New Year!! *

I hope you are all well and that you had a great time seeing in the new year.
Seems crazy to be writing 2013!

Over at Try Stampin on Tuesday Jenn has once again given us a great sketch to work with:

Here's my take on it:

I started with a crumb cake base and added a piece of Belle Bleu retired dsp (love this paper - I'm annoyed I never bought more ;) I then added scallop trim in very vanilla and not quite navy. For my image panel I stamped onto water colour paper in black staz on, two of the three butterflies from 'Kindness matters', coloured them with my blender pen using not quite navy ink and fussy cut them out. I then mounted them onto dimensionals onto my panel. My sentiment is from 'Fabulous phrases' and cropped with my 3/4" circle punch and layered onto a 1"circle. I added some pearls to the corners and added a double bow. I love the end result and will be using this sketch again for sure!

So now it's your turn. Find a quite moment and join us over at Try Stampin' On Tuesday, we love seeing what you create :)
