TSOT #227

Hi all, Just flying past to share this weeks Try Stampin' On Tuesday. It's a great sketch combo that you can use the photo as inspiration, the sketch or both!

Here's my take. I started out using the colours as a guide, but completely threw it out the window with the balloons :)

Hope you can join us this week!

TSOT #219

Hello, hello! So I'm late with this post, but I guess better late than never! So this week we are mixing things up and using a picture as inspiration instead of a sketch.

My kinda picture! I loved the bright fun colours and so here's what I came up with:

Not as bright, but great colours to play with :) I used Bermuda bay, Melon mambo and Pumpkin pie. I coloured my flowers with wink of stella for that extra pizazz.

I hope you are able to play along with us this week. Also we have our Facebook page, which has great conversations and sharing, which we would love for you to join in with :)

Ok so over to you - if you have any questions, just ask and thanks for looking!

Try Stampin' On Tuesday #207

Hello, hello! It's time again for another sketch over at Try Stampin' On Tuesday. I thought I had this already scheduled, grr - technogy. This weeks sketch is from myself and I love how quickly this came together.

I used the Sale-a-Bration designer series paper Best Year Ever and boy is this beautiful! I'm loving all the colours in this paper.

So now over to you, it's fantastic seeing what you create and how you use the sketch :)

Thanks for looking xx

TSOT #203

Hello, Hello! Well I think I'm slowly getting back into the swing of things. I lost my crafting mojo for a good month and then we had Christmas and school holidays and I just haven't found the time... BUT, my kids have gone back to school and I'm ready to go :)

So here's my card for this weeks Try Stampin' On Tuesday sketch.

I cheated a bit by using striped DSP instead of cutting individual strips.

Here's the sketch:

We hope you can join us this week - it's awesome seeing your creations.

Thanks for looking

TSOT #191- Motley Monsters Part 1

Hello! It's time for another sketch over at Try Stampin' On Tuesday. This twist for this week is to also use black, yellow and orange.

Now those of you that have been following me for a while now, would know that these colours are NOT my go-to colours. But I was going through my patterned paper and found this lolly paper and it went from there.

I did realise when I looked at the sketch again, I completely blanked on the 5th element - whoops ;) Anyway, I was happy with the end result.

This weeks sketch:

I would love it if you popped back over the next week, as I'm doing a series on Motley Monster paper. In Australia, halloween isn't that big, so I wanted to show you other occasions you could use for Motley Monster designer paper. If you dont want to miss out, sign up for direct emails every time I post so you wont miss out.

Thanks for looking :)

Here's the sketch:

Birthday Card Take 1

Hello! Oh boy it has been ages sine I have posted anything here. Between numerous birthdays, weddings, a little thing called a busy life and throw in a Michael Buble concert for good measure - things have been busy!

But I do have a few creations to share with you over the next few days :)

My sister asked me to make a card for her friend, who is not too girly and likes bright colours and no animals. So this is what I came up with:

(I have forgotten where I cased this from so if you know please message me and I'll put in a link)

I must admit, I thought it looked maybe a little too boyish, but going on what I'd been told it should have been ok - (Insert any annoying "your wrong" sound here :) My sister didn't like it.

So after talking to her again, she now wants a card which is blue and apparently her friend loves owls.
I love my sister, but must admit I was slightly annoyed. So I went back to the drawing board and created one she loved.

I am going to be cruel and leave you hanging with the one she did like. So pop back tomorrow and I'll show it to you :)

Sparkly Rainbow

Good morning! Thought I would share one of the last cards I have in my 'to blog' folder from last year. This was a card I made for one of our little friends. I wanted to try creating a rainbow with my circle dies and it was seriously simple! I love how it turned out and the added bonus was that I actually made 2 cards, as you cut the full circle in half and create another rainbow.

My colours are real red, pumpkin pie, daffodil delight, tempting turquoise, old olive and rich razzleberry. I created the clouds with my scallop circle punch and just cut them down.

Any questions, just ask and thanks for looking.

'P' Party

(Just noticed I used all 'P' things to create this card - what are the odds!)

Hi, just popping past to share a quick card I made for a young relative of mine.

I kept it reasonably simple and let all those bright bold colours do the talking. I made the pattern in a snap, using my petite pennant punch - easy peesy! The background is also embossed with the perfect polka dots EB folder.

JAI #206

Hi, I made this card for this weeks challenge at Just Add Ink. We have to use items from Stampin' Up!'s Sale-a-Bration. I decided to use the banner punch:

I have cased elements from a card I saw (if this was you please let me know and I'll add a link to you :)

I wanted to re-try the chalkboard technique - I really think I'm still too clean though. My colours are real red, coastal cabana & soft suede, not a combo I would pick myself, but thats the beauty of the DSP from Stampin' Up!

Fast Ombre

Today I'm sharing a card I made a while ago. I loved the ombre effect and tried it with some pink card I had.

I think my colours are rose red, regal rose (R) & Pretty in pink (R) and I stamped the flower from Fast and Fabulous (R) in jet black staz on ink. I love this card and it was very easy to create - always a bonus!

Any questions, just ask and thanks for looking.

Pintrest Inspired

Hi, today I have a card which I saw on pintrest.

I love the simplicity of this card. For some reason I always forget I can use my paper piercer to add detail - dont know why I forget, as it's so easy to do!

I used the now retired Kindness Matters stamp set and my colours are melon mambo, crumb cake and baja breeze (retired). The twine was from my stash and the baja breeze frame was created by cutting a decorative label in half and adhering to the back of the white panel.

Thanks for looking and have a great day :)

TSOT #156

Good morning! It's time for another sketch at Try Stampin' On Tuesday. This is another one of my sketches, hope you like it:

And my card:

I used some new products and pulled my colour combo from the watercolour Wonder DSP. I love how fresh and summery this card feels. I'm reading about all of these snow and ice storms from friends on the other side of the world and here in Oz we are finally over our heat waves and the weather has become much more pleasant :)

Hope you can join us this week at TSOT.

Clean Butterfly

So the cards I have to share with you this morning are a complete CASE from Mary Fish. Now if haven't seen any of Mary's work (which rock have you been hiding under!!) go and see her amazing creations - truly inspiring.

Any way, these are may take on this quick and easy card.

Seriously how easy and quick, yet beautiful are these?! I love them :) and I dont think too much explaining needs to go into them.

I Seem to do Things in 2...

... not really sure why, but pulling through some pics in my 'to blog' folder, I've noticed I would make cards in two's.

For this set of cards I used the ever elegant Pleasant Poppies:

I stamped the poppies in white ink onto certainly celery card stock (retired) and then heat embossed in white. The first card I ran a versa mark pen around the flowers - not sure if I like it or not. I used soft suede for the sentiments, so saffron dsp and a red button from my stash to add a bit of 'pop'.

These are really cute in real life and since looking at them in this post, I'm going to say that the second card is my favourite - what's yours?

Thanks for stopping by :)

TSOT #153

Whoops, nearly forgot to post this one :) This is my offering for this weeks Try Stampin' On Tuesday.

The twist with this weeks sketch is to 'keep warm'. Had to laugh at that one because here in South Australia, we have just been though a heat wave. We were sitting on 40°+ weather - so it was HOT!! You may have heard about us on the news, apparently one of the days we were the hottest city in the world :) Thankfully I live on the sea, so we do get some relief, which is nice.

Any way, my card uses the new high tide DSP from the occasions catalogue and I love how easy and simple this card is - perfect for the guys.

Thanks for looking and any questions just ask

Floral Butterfly

Hi, thought I'd pop past quickly and share a card I made a fair while ago.

This was actually made up from a few things I had on my desk and wanted to use, so it came together quite quickly :) The flowers are from Elements of Style stamp set (retired), stamped in staz on and I used my blender pen to quickly colour them. Once again I have used the Curly Cute stamp set )also retired) stamped in soft suede.

TSOT #137

Hi! It's time again for another sketch at Try Stampin' On Tuesday. It's one of my sketches and we also have the added theme of "Autumn in the air".

For the past month or so, my creativeness has gone awol. So this is the first card that I feel like it didn't take forever to create and I can look at it and say "I dont hate it" (but then I dont love it either :) I think we are our own harshest critics.
I did challenge myself to try something new and for my borders and details, I drew around the edges with a black felt tip pen.
I actually found the theme a funny one, as here in Australia we're going into spring, so it's nice and warm and cold autumn weather is now a thing of the past!!! (yes I love spring/summer :)

So now over to you, it's great seeing your creations and how you interpret the sketch. If you want to see the other DT's creations, then click here.

JAI 176 - Just Add Blokes

Hi all, just popping past to share a card that I made for this weeks Just Add Ink challenge, which is 'Just add blokes'. This was perfect timing, as it's Hubby's birthday and I needed a card :)

I went quite graphic and as he's a Port Power fan, I decided to use these colours. I actually printed the 'birthday' from MDS (how awesome is that program?!) And I dont know if you can see it, due to the picture being a bit too stark, grr, but I did emboss the white with the chevron EB folder. I was quite happy with the end result, and I think Hubby was too.
