Pleasant Poppies

Hi! I'm still sharing card that were in my 'to blog' folder and this one is one of my favorites. I made this for my Aunty, who created this amazing cross stitch for me. (sorry for the bad pic)

So I wanted to make a special card for her to say thank you. I fell in love with this card by Teneale Williams and thought it would be perfect.

I coloured the poppies in rose red and built up the colour and used old olive on the stems. I outlined the image with now retired baja breeze ink and used the words from French Foliage (retired) stamp set to distress and add depth to the image panel. The embossed panel is embossed with the vintage wallpaper EB folder (retired) and I sponged the edges in crumb cake. I used rose red seam binding and vanilla ribbon from my stash.

With this being a special card, I did even stamp on the inside - a rare thing for me :) I think my Aunty loved the card, but I also had a great time making this one.

Any question just ask and thanks for looking.

TSOT #153

Whoops, nearly forgot to post this one :) This is my offering for this weeks Try Stampin' On Tuesday.

The twist with this weeks sketch is to 'keep warm'. Had to laugh at that one because here in South Australia, we have just been though a heat wave. We were sitting on 40°+ weather - so it was HOT!! You may have heard about us on the news, apparently one of the days we were the hottest city in the world :) Thankfully I live on the sea, so we do get some relief, which is nice.

Any way, my card uses the new high tide DSP from the occasions catalogue and I love how easy and simple this card is - perfect for the guys.

Artfull Stampers Sale-a-Bration Blog Hop

Welcome to the annual Artfull Stampers Saleabration Blog Hop for 2014. What a fantastic way to start your crafting year with an exceptional catalogue jam packed with great new ideas, beautiful new products and the best thing - FREE products. The Artfull Stampers group have got together to showcase our beautiful new product offerings in the Saleabration catalogue - these items are unique offerings and will only be available during this promotion. So lets get started - all you need to do is follow the next blog button below as it takes you around the blog hop - grab a cuppa and sit back and enjoy!

Thanks for joining us today - You've should have just come from Karlie's blog.

Ok, here is what I'm offering for the blog hop today:

I used the stamp set 'See Ya Later' and the banner punch which are all free through the SAB promotion. I love, love, love this sentiment from this set (they all are pretty cute though :) and the banner punch makes making banners a snap. I also used some new fancy foil designer vellum, which is available now through the new occasions catalogue. I gold embossed the sentiment and the birds are added with a whole lot of dimensionals.

One tip I'll give you - when adhering the vellum to your card, place small pieces of adhesive (I used sticky strip for extra hold) behind the dots or pattern, so the adhesive doesn't show through and you'll get a more seem less look.

Thanks for looking and now it time to head on over to Alisa's blog to see what she has created :)

Funky Four Birthday

Good morning and welcome back to my piece of blog land. Today I'm sharing a simple design for all those men in our lives. I love creating card for the guys, but lets be honest - they may not always appreciate them.

When I make this design (and I have repeated this one a lot) I tend to make two and keep my stash healthy. I have used chocolate chip for the base and some retired Greenhouse Gala dsp. The sentiment is from Best Dad Ever and the tree from Funky Four (both retired) and I used some large silver brads from my stash to finish them off.

Thanks for looking

Fresh Vintage

Ok, so when going through my 'to blog' folder I came across this card. I know I have shared this design with you before here, but in my defense, this uses a different colour combo and stamp set :)

I love creating my own paper and I did this to get the right result in this card. I used the long retired SAB set Fresh Vintage. My colour combo is rose red and very vanilla and the sponging is in crumb cake. The background has been stamped using my stamp-a-ma-jig to get the best results, then run through my big shot using the square lattice which has been inked for effect.

I love the look of this card. If you have any question just ask and thanks for looking

Floral Butterfly

Hi, thought I'd pop past quickly and share a card I made a fair while ago.

This was actually made up from a few things I had on my desk and wanted to use, so it came together quite quickly :) The flowers are from Elements of Style stamp set (retired), stamped in staz on and I used my blender pen to quickly colour them. Once again I have used the Curly Cute stamp set )also retired) stamped in soft suede.

Just for You

Good morning! So far so good, eh? If you follow me you will know that I'm trying to blog more this year and so far I'm not going too badly :)

Today I have a card that I created for a closed challenge site.

I love grey and white for a modern colour combo and love how the rose red flower just adds that extra bit of 'pop' and the leaves are from the bird builder punch. One tip I will give you is look at you punches, see if there are different shapes or uses you can see. You will get many more miles if you play around with your punches to create different shapes and sizes.

Any ways, as always thanks for looking :)

Money Slider

My Aunty had asked for a money slider for a friend last year. She wanted something bright and floral and this is what I came up with:

I love packaging up money with a money slider. It always gets a "Oh! cool!" reaction, which is what it's all about. I have used the retired SAB fresh vintage dsp and the sentiment is from retired Curly Cute stamp set.

Wedding Cards #5

Ok, this is my final card for my wedding card installment and this one has to be my all time favorite.

I have used very vanilla and crumb cake as my colours and the background was created by inking up by vintage wallpaper EB folder and then embossing. I created the wreath using the branch from the bird builder punch and the birds have been sponged and layered onto the card with dimensionals. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny sentiment set and I finished the wreath off with a pearl. I have used this design a few times before on a Christmas card and Money Holder and I still find it a winner :)

I hope over these past few days you have found some inspiration for those special occasions cards. If you used any of these ideas, I'd love to see them. Either leave me a comment with a link or email a pic - I love seeing how my creations can inspire others :)

As always any question just ask and thanks for looking

Wedding Card #4

Ok, so now Im going to share one of my favourite cards.

This card I created using an old Mojo Monday sketch. I have used paper and card are from my stash and the flowers are made using one of the boho punch flowers, which I crumpled to give a bit more texture. The sentiment is from the Fabulous Phrases (no it's not retired ;) but I stamped it off once for a more subtle look.

I love this card so much I have used the design a few times since. The most recent was my brother in laws wedding. I also made them a money slider as well.

Any questions just ask and thanks for looking.

Wedding Card #3

Good morning! This is card number 3 in my wedding card installments.

This card is super quick and easy to whip up if your in a hurry. I have embossed the very vanilla panel with the now retired elegant bouquet EB folder (but any EB folder will work) and layered it onto a crumb cake base, stamped the greeting in crumb cake from Well Scripted stamp set (also retired but one I'm holding onto) and placed some butterflies and pearls to finish off. This is a card I have duplicated for many different occasions and its so easy and simple to make!

Any questions just ask and as always I really appreciate you taking the time to check out my creations :)

Wedding Cards #2

I'm back to share the second wedding card I made last year.

This card was inspired my my cousins wedding, which had a black and white theme. I think these colours are classic and classy together.

I used the vintage wallpaper EB folder, which has since retired, but you could use any ornate looking one. The sentiment is from curly cute, which is also retired, but this is a sentiment set I dont think I'll be parting with :)

Any questions just ask and thanks for looking

Wedding Cards #1

Good morning! Well as part of my new years resolution, I want to blog on a more regular basis, which  in theory should make me create on a more regular basis (hopefully my theory works :)

Anyway, I haven't created anything this year (I'm preparing for a Little Mermaid/Ariel party for my DD) but I do have quite a few pics in my 'to blog' folder. They are however before I became a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, so there is some non SU! items used.
I made quite a few wedding cards at the beginning of last year and I'll share them over a few days.

First up is one I was inspired by one I saw on a blog which is no longer available, here is my interpretation:

I love the modern feel and clean lines of this design and it could be as a wedding, engagement or anniversary card. I love using the bird builder punch in this way and the hearts come from the owl builder punch. I also used vellum over a piece of grey card to give it a softer look.

Any questions just ask and as always I really appreciate you taking the time to check out my creations.

TSOT #149

Happy new year!

I hope your Christmas and new year celebrations, were filled with fun, laughter and hopefully not too much eating ;)

It's time for a sketch over at Try Stampin' On Tuesday. I feel a bit bad, as I totally blanked to make a card for my previous fortnight - I think the craziness of Christmas caught me there.

Any way, onto my card for this week.

I purchased the Zoo Babies stamp set when it was on special a few months ago, but have yet to use it. So I thought I'd pull it out and give it some ink. I my colours come from the regal range, to try and keep it gender mutual.

Now I know you'll want to check out the other design teams creations so click here.
