TSOT #189

Hi everyone!

October is the month when halloween is celebrated. This month, at Try Stampin’ On Tuesday we are having some fun and we want you to have some fun too. This week, we have a word scramble for you all to participate in. Simply unscramble these two words – plus those on the other designers’ blogs and your name will be entered in a draw. Further details can be found on the Try Stampin’ challenge post this week. So have a good time and join us for some fun!

So lets get to the two scrambled words you will need from my blog:

EATRT
&
YUMMM
Remember - You'll have to unscramble all the words from all the blogs and comment back onto the main Try Stampin' On Tuesday to be eligible for a prize.

So now onto my card for this weeks challenge:

I have had these butterflies on my desk for a while now :) I coloured them with my pumpkin pie blendabilities. The sentiment is from the Good Greetings stamp set and the paper is retired winter sweater.

I cant seem to save the sketch for this week, so head on over to the Try Stampin' On Tuesday site to see the sketch and other great creations.

I hope you can join us this week!
Thanks for looking

Just for You

Good morning! So far so good, eh? If you follow me you will know that I'm trying to blog more this year and so far I'm not going too badly :)

Today I have a card that I created for a closed challenge site.

I love grey and white for a modern colour combo and love how the rose red flower just adds that extra bit of 'pop' and the leaves are from the bird builder punch. One tip I will give you is look at you punches, see if there are different shapes or uses you can see. You will get many more miles if you play around with your punches to create different shapes and sizes.

Any ways, as always thanks for looking :)

Wedding Cards #2

I'm back to share the second wedding card I made last year.

This card was inspired my my cousins wedding, which had a black and white theme. I think these colours are classic and classy together.

I used the vintage wallpaper EB folder, which has since retired, but you could use any ornate looking one. The sentiment is from curly cute, which is also retired, but this is a sentiment set I dont think I'll be parting with :)

Any questions just ask and thanks for looking

TSOT #132

Hi, It's time again for another sketch at Try Stampin' On Tuesday. This is a rather simple and versatile sketch - gotta love that!!

I went with a Christmas card (you'll probably be seeing a few more, as Christmas is not that far away-eek!) The beauty about this card was that I had previously stamped the tree and the rest is made all from scraps - took about 10 mins to put together :)

Now over to you! It's great seeing what you create and if you want to see the other design teams creations go here.

Any questions just ask and thanks for looking.

TSOT #121 - Happy Birthday

Hello! It's time again for another sketch over at Try Stampin' On Tuesday. This is my kind of sketch! I found my card came together quite easily.

I embossed the background for the swirl on the corner and used some paper from my stash. I punched out a few butterflies and added a pink button. I used my bow maker to make a three looped bow with some crochet twine and added it tho the top of the button. A few pearls to finish and I was done!

Now I'm sure you'll want to check out the other design teams creations, so go here.

Thanks for looking

Happy Birthday

Hi! I'm loving having a bit more free time, now I can actually have time to join in with some great challenges! So for this card I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches :

And my creation...

I know it's not a new idea using stitching down the middle of an element, but while spending a bit (ok a lot :) of time on Pinterest, I've seen a few cards using it and wanted to try it. I pulled out my subtle polka dot scraps from the paper stack and punched out two hearts in each colour, I sponged the edges, and attached to crumb cake tag with stitching. I layered wild wasabi lacy circle behind the tag and added my happy birthday from 'Teeny tiny sentiments'. The white background is embossed with the chevron EB folder.

Go here to check out the design teams great creation :)

I also wanted to enter this card for Inkspirational Challenge - anything goes. Once again an amazing design team, so go here and check out their creations.

Thanks for looking :)

Bright Birthday Four!

MERRY
* CHRISTMAS! *

Well the day that we've all planned and scurried around for is finally here! I hope that you are able to enjoy family and good times today and dont eat too much (as I know I seem to do!)

We still have a challenge on today at Try Stampin' On Tuesday, and its a goodie! I need a card for my DD who has a birthday early January and this sketch was perfect.

I wanted to use bright, fun colours, so out came my brights collection from Stampin' Up. I used my beautiful wings embosslit and my heart punch to create my panel and then I inlaid embossed it with my square lattice embossing folder. I actually made a second embossed panel, but it was way too heavy on the card, so I've used some vellum, embossed with my perfect polka dot folder and trimmed with a very thin piece of pumpkin pie. I was happy with the result, as I can still see the bottom panel. The scallop circle is from spellbinders and I've cut out my number 4 in white and popped it up on dimensionals.  My twine is actually from a pack I got with a magazine, but it is a perfect match with the tempting turquoise - score!
Here's another view - do you think a 4 year old would love to get this?? I know I would:)

Go past Try Stampin On Tuesday and see the other creations the design team have come up with as usual they are amazing!

Birthday Case

I'm back with another case which I made a while ago. My inspiration comes from this card, which I fell in love with. I didn't change too much as I thought it was pretty perfect as it was :)

I used pink pirouette dsp, crumb cake, rose red, soft suede ink, very vanilla and certainly celery. I created the flower by scrunching 4 scallop circles and layering them onto of each other and securing them with a brad. I used a lacy circle from nestabilities for the large scallop circle and budding vine embossing folder. The sentiment is from "Well Scripted" and a few pearls add a bit of bling.

Thanks for looking :)

Elegant Three

Hello! I'm popping by to show you a few cards I made a while ago. They are quite a collaboration of different companies products. For all of them, the base and lacy circle are elegant eggplant, the dsp is bella bleu, the leaves are in old olive and punched out with the bird punch and the flowers are punched out with the boho blossom punch all Stampin up. The gold and white shimmer card is from Cristina Re, the cream card is from Artee, the pearls are from Kaiser Craft and the butterfly is from Martha Stewart. The lacy circle is from nestabilities.

The sentiment is from Stampin Up's 'On your Birthday'

The sentiment is from Verve stamps plain jane collection

This sentiment is also from Verve stamps plain jane collection

I was definitely on a roll when I made these, and I quite like them all :)

Thanks for looking

JAI 95 - Bah Humbug

Oh boy, it's been a while since I have played along with Just Add Ink. I was determined to sit down and join in on their challenge, which was to create a Christmas project with no Christmas paper or stamp set except for a sentiment. I took the 'no Christmas paper' quite literally, as I also scrapped traditional Christmas colors all together.

I've used melon mambo, daffodil delight and tempting turquoise as my main colours and the trees are old olive and crumb cake. For the background I used "Bliss" stamp set and inked it in melon mambo and stamped using my stamp-a-ma-jig to get every thing looking straight. My trees are from "Trendy trees" and the sentiment is from "Best yet". I had a lot of fun creating this card, as the colours were so summery and kind of fitting for an Aussie Christmas (well I think so :)

Thanks for looking and pop past Just Add Ink to see all the other amazing creations!

Just Add Ink 85 - Just add baby

Hi again! This week at Just Add Ink the challenge is to "Just add baby". I loved this colour combo of pink and brown that I've seen on a few blogs (I'm not really a 'brown' person, so I don't normally use it) and I still am in love with easel cards. Heres what I came up with:

I've used soft suede, pink pirouette and certainly celery and I've add a lot of pearls! I sponged all the pink pirouette dsp in soft suede and added just a little bit of colour to the main image.
Hmmm, now I just need someone to have a baby girl - any takers?
Thanks for looking.

Just Add Ink 84 - Colour Challenge

This week at Just Add Ink they have a colour challenge: "White plus one".

When I first sat down I thought I would use rose red, but no matter how hard I tried and after many attempts, I couldn't get anything to look 'right'. So I completely changed my course and picked up tempting turquoise. I must admit I was a lot happier with the look of this card.

I love how fresh this card feels. I originally had the flowers with no colouring but I felt it needed a bit more depth. So I used my blender pen to add a bit of colour and not make them seem so 'white'. I also added some 2 mm rhinestones from my stash to the middles of the flowers. As you can see I did add a fair bit of dimension.
Thanks for looking!

Just Add Ink 83 - Sketch Challenge

Hi! Recently I made a heap of these flowers and I thought that I'd pull one out for the sketch challenge at Just Add Ink.

The flower is made from scrunching and layering different sized scalloped circles. I found this great idea for adding a bit of bling to a silver brad from Connie Collins. All I did was cover a silver brad with some rhinestones, for an instant wow factor.

Heres the sketch we had to work with:

Mojo Monday 204

I loved this weeks sketch at Mojo Monday. So here is my entry for this week:

The photo doesn't do this card justice and once again I've done another Christmas card. When it comes to Christmas cards, I can tend to be pretty traditional. I used the motif stamp from "Bliss" for the background and then used the "French script" for the background for my centre square. All the red card has been sponged on the edge to give it some depth. I love the end result, hope you do.

Heres the sketch:

Hope you have a great day!

Mojo Monday 200

Wow what a nice day, it's so nice to feel the warm sun - I cant wait for summer!
I decided to enter in Mojo Monday's challenge for this week. Here's the sketch:

And here's my take on it:

I used Grace Taylor's papers 'Flower Patch'. I think I like it, but I'm always my worst critic. Just a quick post today as I have a LOAD of things to get done, as most mum's do.
Thanks for looking and have a great day.
