Lovely Rosette

Good morning! Nicole recently posted this card and I knew I wanted to case it. I change the colours but basically kept it all the same.

I love how it turned out and I think the colours are so pretty. Any questions about the details just ask!

Thanks for looking :)

JAI #132 - Sketch Challenge

Hi there! It's been a while since I joined in at Just Add Ink, but they had a great sketch, which was perfect for a male birthday card which I needed quick.

Here's the sketch:

 And here's my creation:

I loved the clean lines of the sketch and kept this one pretty simple. I used some dsp from my stash and the tree is from 'funky four', the sentiment is from 'best Dad ever', like I said a nice simple card which I love for guys.

If you have time, go past Just Add Ink and check out all the design teams fantastic creations!

Festive Friday # 33 - Sketch Challenge

Good morning! Nicole has a sketch for us this week for Festive Friday.

Here's the sketch:

And my contribution:

I challenged myself to use "Lovely as a Tree" stamp set, and the pine tree was perfect for this sketch. I used the framelits to frame my image, I used some silver glimmer paper for a bit of bling and the sentiment is from "Short and Sweet". I used a retired button and pushed a small brad through the button holes, so I have a green middle. My colours are old olive, real red and whisper white.

Pop past Nicole's blog and have a go at this great sketch.

Thanks for looking.

A Bold Pattern

Hi, Just passing by quickly to share these two card I made. I found this great patterned paper and wanted to use it, but I dont do bright, bold patterns too well, so I kept it simple and let the paper do all the talking.

These were quick cards to create and perfect for what I needed them for :)
Thanks for looking.

Festive Friday # 31 - Inspiration Photo

Once again it's Festive Friday time! For this week it's time to be inspired by this photo and make a Father's day card:

I must admit I struggled a little with this one. When I  first saw this photo I  thought "cars and vintage", but I have no car stamps and I'm not the greatest at vintage style. So I pulled my inspiration from the colours, I used cherry cobbler, basic black, soft suede, very vanilla and crumb cake and the I used "Best Dad ever" stamp set.

I started by sponging all over the very vanilla panel with crumb cake and the same with the image panel. I then took my scissors to the edges of both pieces and 'roughed' them up a little. The image panel was then stamped with the ties in soft suede and cherry cobbler and layered onto basic black. I then stamped the background panel with the ties in crumb cake, but I stamped off the ties to get a softer look. "Dad" was cut out using my alphabet die cuts and I'm not sure if you can see behind each letter is a whisper white shadow, just like on the sign in the photo. I would say this is an attempt of vintage and I'm pretty happy with the end result.

So how does the picture inspire you? Link up your creation to Nicole's blog, we love seeing what you come up with :)

Birthday Case

I'm back with another case which I made a while ago. My inspiration comes from this card, which I fell in love with. I didn't change too much as I thought it was pretty perfect as it was :)

I used pink pirouette dsp, crumb cake, rose red, soft suede ink, very vanilla and certainly celery. I created the flower by scrunching 4 scallop circles and layering them onto of each other and securing them with a brad. I used a lacy circle from nestabilities for the large scallop circle and budding vine embossing folder. The sentiment is from "Well Scripted" and a few pearls add a bit of bling.

Freshly Made Sketches #46

Hello! I feel like it's been forever since I have joined in with a challenge and made a card just because I can. I seem to have a specific purpose in everything I'm making, miss the dead line for when the challenge finishes or I just dont have my mojo. BUT I loved the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches and thought I'd give it a go.

I'm loving pin wheels at the moment. They just scream happy, summer days (so hanging out for warmer weather, as it's freezing here in South Oz) I went with my favourite colour palette - subtle and I was feeling slightly patriotic and wanted to put green and gold (so saffron) on my card.

Thanks for checking out my card and go past Freshly made sketches as they have some amazing samples.
