G'day. I hope this finds you enjoying warmer weather (if you are in Australia :) Today I'm sharing a card which I made last year and still haven't shared it with you. I case'd it from this card, which I fell in love with.
I wanted to used bold, bright colours, so melon mambo, old olive and pumpkin pie were my msin colours, I then bordered them with soft suede and matted it all onto crumb cake. The ribbon and the pearls are from Kaiser Craft. The sentiment is from 'short and sweet' and the leaves are from 'funky four'. I love using stamps in a way I wouldn't think of using them. I cropped out the images with the oval punch and matted them onto the same coloured card stock cropped from the wide oval punch. When I was placing the image panels I accidently placed them onto the same colour background as I wanted to mix it up a bit, but I think this still works.
Thanks for looking :)

Festive Friday # 33 - Sketch Challenge
Good morning! Nicole has a sketch for us this week for Festive Friday.
Here's the sketch:
And my contribution:
I challenged myself to use "Lovely as a Tree" stamp set, and the pine tree was perfect for this sketch. I used the framelits to frame my image, I used some silver glimmer paper for a bit of bling and the sentiment is from "Short and Sweet". I used a retired button and pushed a small brad through the button holes, so I have a green middle. My colours are old olive, real red and whisper white.
Pop past Nicole's blog and have a go at this great sketch.
Thanks for looking.

Festive Friday #21 - Colour Challenge
Good morning! We have a great colour challenge for you, for this weeks Festive Friday.
Looking at it now, it looks so simple and doesn't warrant the hours I spent on it! I think these colours together really threw me :)
I used baja breeze for my base and ran a piece of baja breeze through my big shot with the square lattice EB folder. I used cajun craze dsp to create a poinsettia looking flower, by using my blossom petals builder punch. I added a basic grey circle for the middle and highlighted it with my white gel pen. The white mat behind the flower is stamped with 'French Script' in basic grey and is slightly sponged around the edges. The sentiment is from 'Short and Sweet', a little bit of basic grey ribbon and I was done! Whew!
If you feel inspired, go past Nicole's blog and check out all the other great creations from the design team and join in on the fun!

Nicole set the colour of baja breeze, cajun craze, basic grey and either whisper white or very vanilla. Now when I was given this challenge, I sat for a very long time to be 'inspired', then I would think I had an idea and tried it out, only to have it look 'yuck'. Eventually after many pain staking hours I came up with this:

Festive Friday #13 Colour Challenge
Good morning!
Well it's time again for another Festive Friday and we're switching it up a bit. We are moving to a more 'traditional' style of blog challenge, so there will be colour challenges, inspiration photos, sketches for you to join in with us. Nicole has done a great job at sorting out the new format and I cant wait to see what the other design members come up with.
So for our first week we have a colour challenge for you and here it is:
I really love these colours together. I found that this card came together quite easily, as I had the colours picked out for me and I had told myself that I wanted to used the 'snow swirled' for my next card I made... so here it is :) I also used 'final press' embossing folder and 'short and sweet' for the sentiment and a few rhinestones add a bit bling! I love the clean lines on this card and could see myself easily mass producing this one.
So now it's over to you... visit Nicole's blog and check out what the other design team members have created and join in on the fun!

Festive Friday Challenge #1
Hey there! Well it's here - the first Festive Friday Challenge! This week it's all about Valentines day cards.
Now normally I dont make or send out Valentines day cards, but if I do, I generally only make one for Hubby. So that's how I came to this colour combo of soft suede, garden green, whisper white and I must admit I really like it - not too 'girly'! I also wanted to try and challenge myself to use items and stamp sets which I've bought months or even years ago and haven't really used them. I coloured the bottom of the hot air balloon with chocolate chip, old olive, garden green and certainly celery markers. I used a circle treat cup and filled it with yellow M & M's just to try and add more colour to it. The clouds were created using my small scallop circle punch, cutting off the bottoms and glueing straight onto the white - you could also use the top of the cupcake punch. The sentiment is stamped in garden green. I really liked the end result. So why not pop on over to Nicole's blog, find some inspiration, link your card up and join in on the fun!
Thanks for looking and have a great day!
* All items used are Stampin' Up.
