Mojo Monday 201

This week Mojo Monday is letting you choose between a square or circle card. I dont tend to do either shaped card, so I kept it simple and went for a square card. If I have time and I'm feeling inspired, I might try a circle card.

Heres the sketch:

Here's my take on it:

I need to start to stock up on Christmas cards, because sure enough Christmas will be here in no time (along with the warmer weather!) I'm not sure about you, but if I have to make a whole heap of Christmas cards in one hit, I seem to make them very similar looking and boring. By starting now I hopefully wont be doing a rushed job in December.
Thanks for looking.

Just Add Ink 77 - Sketch Challenge

What a busy week! I didnt think that I would have been able to get any creating done, but I did manage to make a card for this weeks challenge at Just Add Ink.

I did take some creative license with the middle square being bigger and turned into a diamond. I think if I did the card again I wouldn't have put the second smaller flower in, but it still works (I think).
Thanks for looking.

Mojo Monday 200

Wow what a nice day, it's so nice to feel the warm sun - I cant wait for summer!
I decided to enter in Mojo Monday's challenge for this week. Here's the sketch:

And here's my take on it:

I used Grace Taylor's papers 'Flower Patch'. I think I like it, but I'm always my worst critic. Just a quick post today as I have a LOAD of things to get done, as most mum's do.
Thanks for looking and have a great day.

I {Heart} Ribbon Challenge 6

I have been following Nina's blog for quite some time now and I adore her work. So I wanted to join in with her ribbon challenge she has going. This challenge was to use two or more ribbons on the one project.
 Heres my card:

This was a challenge for me, as I generally only use one ribbon on my cards and I completely stepped out of my comfort zone and went bright colours (hence all the white and simplicity of the card)
If you have time go and check out Nina's blog, you'll be sure to find some inspiration. Thanks for looking!

Inkspirations Colour Challenge #78

When I saw the inkspirations challenge for this week, I knew that I HAD to join in as these are so my colours! I am also on a mission to make more easel cards, as I do love them, I just never seem to make them. So here are the challenge colours:

And here is my easel card:

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

JAI 76 - Inspiration Challenge

Good morning! How great is the inspiration photo at Just Add Ink this week? It reminds me of some where nice and warm (some place where I'd rather be than always having frozen fingers and toes)
I took the photo quite literally in the lay out and colours. With the white rectangle building on the right, the little bit of curve (behind the white verse panel) was taken from the tiles, the plant cascading off the  building and the 'butterfly' as the cloud. My right hand corner looked a little empty, so I took the metal balcony as my guide and added some silver brads. I love that this photo allows us to interpret how ever we see fit - great challenge!

Hope you like it. I also wanted to say a big thank you to every one who leaves me a message. It's much appreciated and encouraging, thanks.
Have a great day and I'll be hoping for weather more like the one in the photo!

JAI 75 - Colour challenge

Here's my entry for JAI. I didn't think I would be able to re-create something with the correct colours (see previous post), but I managed to find time for a quick card (with the correct colours :) I like this version a little bit better.

Guest Designer

Two posts in 1 day! My sister was around today as it's school holidays (she's only 13) and we sat down to create. This is the card that she came up with:

She made her own patterned paper and coloured the image in. I thought it was a pretty cute result.

Not so vintage

Hello!
I thought I'd be able to enter this in the JAI colour challenge, but I read the colours wrong and used riding hood red, when I should have used cherry cobbler, oh well. I'll still post the card; this was a challenge for me with these colours, they screamed vintage to me and I dont do vintage very well. This card took so many hours of just staring at it and nothing was jumping off the page and the end result I'm still not happy with, I guess you have times like that.

Thanks for stopping by.

Wedding Congrats

Hi again! This card is another case (I promise I do have my own ideas!) but I really liked this card done by Melissa. I loved the modern feel of the card and that it was quite a simple card. The square shape is cut out with stampin' ups top note die cut, here's a video from Mary Fish - enjoy.

I was JAI 74 top pick!

Hi,
Just popping in to say WOW! I jumped on the computer tonight to find that I was this weeks winner at Just Add Ink, with my easel card. It was such a nice surprise as there are always so many great creations and talented crafters out there!

JAI 74 - Fancy Folds

Good morning!
Here is my entry for JAI. I love that they gave us the challenge of a 'Fancy Fold's' card. I had a hard time choosing which fold I was going to use, but I have always loved easel cards and I never do enough of them. So here is my easel card.

I love how simple they are to make, yet I think they have such a WOW factor!
Thanks for looking and have a good day.

A birthday case

Good Afternoon!
I was going through some of my most loved cards recently, and I wanted to share this one with you. I've been following Soapbox Creations for a while now and I found this card. I loved it as it uses colours which I rarely touch and find quite scary... red & black. I loved Laurie's card so much I cased it.

Hope you have a great day and thanks for looking.
