Sparkly Rainbow

Good morning! Thought I would share one of the last cards I have in my 'to blog' folder from last year. This was a card I made for one of our little friends. I wanted to try creating a rainbow with my circle dies and it was seriously simple! I love how it turned out and the added bonus was that I actually made 2 cards, as you cut the full circle in half and create another rainbow.

My colours are real red, pumpkin pie, daffodil delight, tempting turquoise, old olive and rich razzleberry. I created the clouds with my scallop circle punch and just cut them down.

Any questions, just ask and thanks for looking.

TSOT #121 - Happy Birthday

Hello! It's time again for another sketch over at Try Stampin' On Tuesday. This is my kind of sketch! I found my card came together quite easily.

I embossed the background for the swirl on the corner and used some paper from my stash. I punched out a few butterflies and added a pink button. I used my bow maker to make a three looped bow with some crochet twine and added it tho the top of the button. A few pearls to finish and I was done!

Now I'm sure you'll want to check out the other design teams creations, so go here.

Thanks for looking

A Mustard Tree

Hi! It's time again for another sketch over at  Try Stampin' On Tuesday - where is the time going?? This week is a great clean and simple sketch from Jenn - seriously, how talented is this lady!
Here's the sketch we have to work with:

Here's my take on it:

I went clean and simple and pulled out colours I never seem to use! I used more mustard, not quite navy  and white. I ran the white panel through the chevron embossing folder, and used different DSP from the regal paper stack. I inked my tree from 'Forrest friends' in  more mustard, but stamped off once before stamping onto my white circle. The sentiment was stamped in not quite navy and it's from 'On your birthday'. I added a few silver pearls and propped the circle onto dimensionals. I was really happy with the end result - a quick and simple guys card, that I actually made a few more of this design.

So go on over and check out the other creations the design team have come up with -  I know you'll be impressed!

Thanks for looking :)

Freshly Made Sketches #32

Hi! Recently I was asked to make some cards for a relative, and one needed to be a male card. I decided to go over at Freshly Made Sketches for some inspiration and I got it :)

Here's the sketch:

I made the card C6 size and used some retired DSP from my stash. I used my nestabilities to create my circles and did some sponging in crumb cake to get a bit more depth on the image circle. The tree is from 'Lovely as a Tree' and it's stamped in chocolate chip. I used some kitchen twine for the detail on the green panel and added some small silver brads.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

ABSC048 - Sketch Challenge

Hi, just quickly passing by to show you my entry for this weeks Annabelle Stamps challenge.

Heres the sketch:

Here's what I created:

I tried to challenge myself and use this paper which I have had hoarded for ages. Not sure about you, but I bought this paper because I loved it, but I struggle to use it on a card - any one else out there who buys paper then comes home and cant seem to use it?!
Even with the sketch simple and one I'll use again, I feel as though there is something missing. But I'm proud that I have cut into this paper and used it on a card!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

I'm going to keep this short, as I'm busy, busy!
Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Just Add Ink 86 - Sketch Challenge

Over at Just Add Ink they have a sketch for this weeks challenge. I must admit I struggled with this one, I looked at it from all different angles and nothing 'poped'. So, I decided to keep it as is and came up with this:

I'm still not too sure about it. I'm not one to use much bling and as you can see, there's a lot! I actually had a rhinestone flourish in my stash, and just cut it up and tucked it behind my circle until I was happy. The circle originally had no hearts around it, but it was looking a little bland, so I added the hearts from the owl builder and glued 2 mm rhinestones on every second heart. The cakes are coloured using my blender pen and I used my staz on for the sentiment, as I think it gives it a richer black. My main colours are marina mist, so saffron, certainly celery and rose red.

Heres the sketch:

Thanks for looking and have a great rest of the weekend!

Christmas Cards #1

I thought I'd share a few of my Christmas cards that I've been working on these past months (yes I started making Christmas cards in June)

This was actually a card that I made last Christmas, but I love it and thought I'd share it. It uses Mojo Monday Sketch # 165
I used Stampin Up's "Lovely as a tree"and I stamped off the image in old olive so it wasn't too bold, then added some 2 mm rhinestones from my stash. The flower rhinestone was also from my stash.

I really like this one. I found out the hard way last year that if you have lots of dimension on your cards, that it cost double to post. So I plan to make a few of these on different colours for those friends and family I wont be able to hand deliver to. I also wanted to have some non-traditional cards (as I tend to only have green and red for Christmas!)
Thanks for looking!
