Pintrest Inspired

Hi, today I have a card which I saw on pintrest.

I love the simplicity of this card. For some reason I always forget I can use my paper piercer to add detail - dont know why I forget, as it's so easy to do!

I used the now retired Kindness Matters stamp set and my colours are melon mambo, crumb cake and baja breeze (retired). The twine was from my stash and the baja breeze frame was created by cutting a decorative label in half and adhering to the back of the white panel.

Thanks for looking and have a great day :)

Baby Girl

So I'm back to share the two baby girl cards I made.

I must admit, I'm not a fan of this one, but I think it's healthy to share cards, even if they make me cringe :)

I love the simplicity of this one. The felt hearts are from Kaisercraft and I've had them forever! I used perfect polka dots to add texture and overall this was very simple to create.

So do you have a favourite? Any question, just ask.

Thanks for looking

TSOT #106 - More Butterflies!

Hello! I feel horrible that I've been a little MIA this week. I'm working on some things, but I'm not able to share them just yet :)

Anyways... onto this weeks Try Stampin' On Tuesday sketch and CherylAnn bring this beauty to us.

Here's the sketch:

And here's my creation:

I went back to where I am more comfortable. Still not sure about last weeks submission :) I used floral district dsp and pulled out rose red, daffodil delight and rich razzleberry as my colour combo. I love these patterns and dont know why it's taken so long to use these. I added some rhinestones to the centers of the butterflies and the ribbon is thin lucky limeade organza. Not sure if you can see the scallop trim along one side of the daffodil delight panel. My sentiment is from teeny tiny sentiments - my favourite set at the moment :) Here's another view:

Sunny Creations Guest Designer - 039/12

Hi! I was asked to be a guest designer for this weeks challenge at Sunny Challenges and Creations. We were asked to use the sketch along with the colours tempting turquoise, melon mambo and soft suede.

Now the best thing about a challenge is that it challenges you... and these colours threw me for a while :) until I started playing around with them. I dont think I've ever used soft suede with any other colour but old olive... So it was great to step out of my comfort zone.

I love how diverse this sketch is and is one I will use in the future. I used the pendants from 'Party this Way' and used my 1/16" hole punch, then threaded some crochet twine through to 'hang' my pendants.
I used the decorative label punch for the mat behind the sentiment. Here's a video to show you how it's done. The tempting turquoise and melon mambo panels are all dry embossed with the 'perfect polka dots' EB folder.

Go on over to Sunny Challenges and Creations and check out all the other amazing creations the design team have come up with and join in on the fun!

Thanks for looking and have a great day :)

Bright Birthday!

Hi All! I recently posted that I came runner up in a competition that Australian Simply Cards magazine was running. Well I won a prize as well and this stamp set was included. So I just had to have a play and all I could see was bright, kids colours!

I used the DSP 'Big top' which is defiantly stepping out of my comfort zone, but I do love the result. My colours are tempting turquoise, real red, daffodil delight and old olive. The red mat for the sentiment is made from the decorative label punch.
It's a pretty clean card, but I like the end result - What do you think ? :)
Thanks for looking!

Card Kit Contest

Hi! A few months ago, my Stampin' Up demonstrator Nicole sent me one of her 'Card kits'. It's a competition where she sends out left over cards from her workshops to some of her customers. The rules were that I had to use everything in the kit - I could add to the kit, but not take anything away. I was sent two kits and this is what I came up with:

This kit had early expresso base, daffodil delight, whisper white and early expresso ribbon. I added rose red, old olive and an antique brad. I made the flowers with the wing from the two step bird punch and the leaves are the body of the bird just cut down to size.

This next card gave me grief. I had baja breeze base, riding hood red, old olive, so saffron and very vanilla. I added soft suede for the owls and some riding hood red dsp and some 'chino' pearls from Kaiser Craft. It took me quite a while to come up with this card. I tried to sketch many different things, but nothing worked till I threw my hands in the air and walked away. I came back a little later and came up with this in about an hour - love how that works sometimes :)

Not sure if you can see, but I've inked my square lattice embossing folder in so saffron and then ran it through my big shot -  I love this subtle effect. The so saffron frame was created with the decorative label punch. I was really happy with how it turned out and so did Nicole, as I won second prize!

Thanks for looking.
