TSOT - Pocketful of Posies

Hello every one! Did I get you singing the nursery rhyme? :)

It's time again for another sketch for Try Stampin' On Tuesday! Here's the sketch:

And my creation:

When I saw the sketch I was a bit stumped in what I wanted to do. SO I started to pull out all my DSP to get some inspiration. I came across the paper in 'Pocketful of posies' - I bought a few of these packs while they were on the SU clearance rack, as I love the colours and patterns, but on the other side of these patterns, they have these super cool graphic designs. Now because I'm not really a scrap booker, the graphic designs would never really see light of day.

So after that long thought process :)... I decided to use them in a card. Once I knew where I was going, this card took very little time to create. I used one sheet of DSP. I cut the section I wanted for my main image, then cut the panel of rich razzleberry (the opposite side) and matted both onto soft suede. I added a plain strip of soft suede, as I thought it would be too busy if I embossed it. My sentiment is stamped in soft suede and is from 'On your birthday' and punched out with my 1 1/4 square punch and matted onto soft suede. I added a butterfly cut out in rich razzleberry from my Beautiful butterflies die. I dont know why, but all of a sudden rich razzleberry seems to be my go to colour. I have a few more creations I have made with it, but I cant share them yet :)

So now it's over to you - have fun with the sketch, we love seeing what you create!

Thanks for listening (reading) and looking xx

TSOT #106 - More Butterflies!

Hello! I feel horrible that I've been a little MIA this week. I'm working on some things, but I'm not able to share them just yet :)

Anyways... onto this weeks Try Stampin' On Tuesday sketch and CherylAnn bring this beauty to us.

Here's the sketch:

And here's my creation:

I went back to where I am more comfortable. Still not sure about last weeks submission :) I used floral district dsp and pulled out rose red, daffodil delight and rich razzleberry as my colour combo. I love these patterns and dont know why it's taken so long to use these. I added some rhinestones to the centers of the butterflies and the ribbon is thin lucky limeade organza. Not sure if you can see the scallop trim along one side of the daffodil delight panel. My sentiment is from teeny tiny sentiments - my favourite set at the moment :) Here's another view:

TSOT #105

Hi! Seriously where is the time going? It's time again for Try stampin' On Tuesday and Jenn has a great sketch for us.

Here's the sketch:

And my creation:

This is a card I made rather quick and now looking at it I'm not sure I like it - ever happen to you?  I challenged myself to use colours and paper I NEVER normally use. I used some paper which I won called hippie chick from DCWV and teamed it up with tangerine tango card from Stampin' Up, along with the oh so cute owl punch. The button is retired and from Stampin' Up as well as the happy birthday sentiment is from teeny tiny sentiments.

Merry Monday #48

Hello! Just popping by to share my Merry Monday Challenge card. It was a colour challenge using non traditional colours.

I dont know how I feel about this one - I think something is missing, but dont know what. Does this happen to any one else? Any way I decided to go with it and still enter it.

This is a spinner card. The snow hills were cut free hand and I let Stampin' Ups owl punch do the rest of the work. I added some silver pearls to the corners and some kindy glitz to the top of the snow hills.

Thanks for looking :)

Birthday Butterfly - TSOT #104

Well I'm not sure about you, but I feel like the weeks are flying by. Once again it's time for another Try Stampin' On Tuesday sketch. Here's the sketch...

 Isn't it a beauty?! Here's my creation...

I went with a crisp, clean look and love how it turned out! My colours are rose red, so saffron, pear pizzaz and white. And want to know the best thing? I managed to make this card (minus the base) completely from scraps or off cuts - love it when that happens :) I used some retired so saffron DSP from play date, the pear pizzaz strip is from nursery nest and I just cut to size and flag cut the end and  stamped the sentiment in rose red and flagged to match the layer. The butterflies are from beautiful butterflies and the smaller butterfly is from beautiful wings.

So how does this sketch inspire you? We would to see your creation and if you have time, go here to check out the other designers amazing creations.

Thanks for looking :)

Happy Birthday

Hi! I'm loving having a bit more free time, now I can actually have time to join in with some great challenges! So for this card I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches :

And my creation...

I know it's not a new idea using stitching down the middle of an element, but while spending a bit (ok a lot :) of time on Pinterest, I've seen a few cards using it and wanted to try it. I pulled out my subtle polka dot scraps from the paper stack and punched out two hearts in each colour, I sponged the edges, and attached to crumb cake tag with stitching. I layered wild wasabi lacy circle behind the tag and added my happy birthday from 'Teeny tiny sentiments'. The white background is embossed with the chevron EB folder.

Go here to check out the design teams great creation :)

I also wanted to enter this card for Inkspirational Challenge - anything goes. Once again an amazing design team, so go here and check out their creations.

Thanks for looking :)
